This is the second piece made for a fairly new client. The
brief was for a slender writing table and chair, new in style
but with classical proportions and an air of "Englishness".
After drawings
and materials (Teak and Leather) were approved, I decided
to incorporate some Laburnum Oysters. This was not only for
there close association with English furniture but because
I had cut some six years previous and had not found a suitable
piece to use them on.
The client
has taken delivery and I'm told uses it every day, which is
more than can be said for my straight edge which got buried
inside the desk, but that's another story. |
